WHAT'S NEW ON THIS WEB SITE

Update # 35:

June 21, 2007: I hadn't planned on updating the games listing on the Internet this soon, but Steve Hatherley moved his Tales of Terror website to a new URL, and in the process of checking all of the new URL's, I also found a French website that has been translating them.

Update # 34:

December 26, 2006: Nightscapes # 17 is now online.

Update # 33:

October 28, 2006: Nightscapes # 16 is now online.

Update # 32:

Update # 32A - June 2, 2005: Having almost two years go by since RGttCM was on toddalan.com, I had to re-check all of the links I had in "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet," and for those that weren't there anymore, I searched the Internet Archive for them. Plus all of the stuff that has been put online since the last update to the Internet links. Please bear with me as I only have the fiction links up right now. If you know of a Cthulhu Mythos story or Mythos-related story that is online that isn't in the fiction links, please let me know using the email link at the bottom of the page. I still have some links to work up, but for now I hope that the 1,016 links will suffice, and that you haven't already read all of them!
Update # 32B - June 2, 2005: The second installment of "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" is now online. It consists of Pseudofactual Material (59 links), Adaptations (15 links), Round Robins (9 links) and Parodies (128 links). Total links, so far, is 1,227. I'm going on vacation and will resume putting the links up when they are ready.
Update # 32C - June 25, 2005: The third installment of "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" is now online. It consists of Nonfiction (115 links) and Poetry (211 links). Total links, so far, is 1,553. Next update will be for Games.
Update # 32D - September 4, 2005: The fourth installment of "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" is now online. It consists of Games (584 links). Total links, so far, is 2,137. Next update will be for Games and/or Artwork and/or Gaming Artwork. Hopefully before they go online, I will be able to put another issue of Nightscapes online.

Update # 31:

Update # 31A - August 9, 2004: Back issues of Nightscapes ( #'s 1 through 14) are now back on line. Did a little format changing on the early issues, and all email address in the back issues have been spam-proofed. Next item to be put up will be the Cthulhu Mythos Chronology and a few other items. Sorry about the Cthulhu Mythos links not being ready. I was going to do an overall update of the links about six months before the dial-up service was terminated. So I was busily looking for another home for the web page. And as a result, the links were vastly out-of-date. I just about have the fiction links ready to go.
Update # 31B - August 12, 2004: The Cthulhu Mythos Chronology is now online, updated through early 2004. We admit that there are items between 1994 and now that are not in the chronology, mainly because they are still awaiting to be read. We would appreciate it if you let us know what items are missing in case we don't have them on hand at the present.

Update # 30: May 3, 2003

Readers Guide to the Cthulhu Mythos is now under construction at www.epberglund.com/RGttCM/, our own domain on a Roadrunner server. Nightscapes # 15 is now on line.

Janurary 18, 2003

Dial-up service for the Readers Guide to the Cthulhu Mythos and Nightscapes at www.toddalan.com was terminated.

Update # 29: August 14, 2001

This is the first update in over a year. Sorry! Anyway, Nightscapes # 14 is now online. Further updates will appear in September, since I'm going to NecronomiCon V in Providence, Rhode Island and then on to northern Wisconsin.

Update # 28:

Update # 28A - May 16, 2000: This is the start of the first full update of the year 2000, so we decided that we will start off with Nightscapes # 13. I'm leaving tomorrow for northern Wisconsin and won't be back until the end of May. But when I do get back, I will get the links pages ready to go online, followed shortly thereafter by the updated listings.
Update # 28B - June 23, 2000: "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 293 new links and 101 updated links, and we dropped 74 links. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 38 new links and 19 updated links, and we dropped 7 links.
Update # 28C - July 11, 2000: Finalizing this update, we have updated "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" with 53 creators' listings updated and four new creator listings. The "History" of the RGttCM has been updated to provide a link to an interview with the webmaster. "A Latter-Day Lovecraftian's Library" has been updated to include the cover and final contents of Chaosium's Tales Out of Innsmouth. "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print" has been updated to include Al-Azif # 4, Cthulhu Cultus # 16 and 17, and Dark Legacy # 5, v2i1, and v2i2. We have also added Imelod v4i15, The Ancient Track v2i2, and the W.H. Pugmire and Stanley C. Sargent collections from Mythos Books.

Update # 27:

Update # 27A - December 5, 1999: Main update this time is putting Nightscapes # 12 online. There are six new items in "The Latter-day Lovecraftians Library," along with 22 new cover images. And if you have the contents page bookmarked, you will have missed our new award.
Update # 27B - February 26, 2000: "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 199 new links and 141 updated links, and we dropped 89 links. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 12 new links and 16 updated links, and we dropped 13 links.

Update # 26:

Update # 26A - July 17, 1999: Haven't had much time for net surfing lately. "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 19 new links and 39 updated links, and we dropped 83 links. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 1 new link and 5 updated links, and we dropped 10 links. We have added 8 new items to "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print." In "A Latter-Day Lovecraftian's Library," 2 items have been published.
Nightscapes # 11 will be along in about a week. The reason that it's not ready to go online yet is because we have revamped "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings." Each creator now has a separate page, which facilitates adding new listings without breaking down pages. We try and keep all pages on the site at 50K or less. You can still start with the first one and continue through to the last, without going back to the contents. We have added 4 new listings and updated 39 others.
Update # 26B - August 17, 1999: Well, I had high hopes of having Nightscapes # 11 online within a week, and here it is exactly a month later. Better late than never, I always say. Enjoy!

Update # 25: March 12, 1999

The main portion of this update is the March issue of Nightscapes(# 10). We have also included some new material in "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print."

Update # 24:

We are breaking this update down into segments, which will be posted as they become ready to go online.
Update # 24A - October 5, 1998: The main portion of this update is the September issue of Nightscapes
(# 9). We have also placed some new pages (linked from the contents page) for the "Return to Innsmouth" movie being produced by Aaron Vanek; "Gaming Material by Laurent Alquier," which isn't up on his website yet; and Edward Phlager's "The House of Cthulhu" web page. We have moved the previous awards from the index page to the "Awards Page". And at Round Robins, under "Huitloxopetl," you will find the link to the latest chapter by Gabriel Benitez and Laura Michel.
We are now an associate of Amazon.com and will provide links to books that we review in Nightscapes which they sell.
Update # 24B - October 22, 1998: "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 281 new links and 76 updated links, and we dropped 63 links. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 51 new links and 17 updated links, and we dropped 15 links.
Update # 24C - December 1, 1998: The first three chapters of the new round robin, "The Terror Out of Time," can be accessed on the The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet. If you would like to participate in this one, please let us know at berglund@toddalan.com. The expansion of Robert M. Price's "Latter-Day Lovecraftian's Library" can be accessed from the contents page. "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print" has been restructured, with two new sub-pages, as most of the professional publications have moved to the "Library." And since it is taking so long to get the complete update to the site online, we have issued a supplement which encompasses additional links to "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" and "Other Web Pages of Interest."

July 1, 1998:

As explained in the editorial section of Nightscapes, at the end of May we went on a two-week vacation to northern Wisconsin and have just now caught up with things. Thus the long delay since the last update.

This update is primarily to put Nightscapes # 8 online. We have also restructured our index page -- it now encompasses three pages. And we now have the graphics for the 1997 Mythos Web On-Line Awards. We will try to update the links pages within the next two weeks, but the real world keeps clamoring for attention.

May 18, 1998:

This update has taken quite a bit of time to do. After receiving 5,827 visits (as of 6:50 PM EST, May 18,1998) from users of MicroSoft Internet Explorer, we just recently found out that the "spacer" tag that we have been using in Netscape doesn't work in IE. So we have gone through the whole website getting rid of the "spacer" tags. The exception to this is that we haven't gotten to the first seven issues of Nightscapes yet, but all the IE user won't see is the paragraph indentations.

If you go to the bottom of our index page, you will find that we are now a member of The HTML Writer's Guild.

For this update, in "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" we have added 9 new creators and updated 39 listings. "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet has 140 new links and 80 updated links, and we dropped 27 links. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 9 new links and 9 updated links, and we dropped 10 links.

April 10, 1998:

This update is to put Nightscapes # 7 online and our newest award from WebNet WebRatings (4 out of 5 gold stars).

March 29, 1998:

Well, here we are finally with a new update. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten Nightscapes # 7 ready to go yet, and we are already accepting material for # 8!

In this update we have the following: In "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" we have 10 new listings for creators and have updated 20 other listings. In "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" we have 104 new links and updated 28 links. We have added 4 new items to "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print". In "Other Web Pages of Interest" we have added 17 new links and updated 6 links. We have also updated "A Chronology of the Cthulhu Mythos" to the year 1993.

February 21, 1998:

Well, here we are on the first anniversary on the Reader's Guide to the Cthulhu Mythos going online on the Internet! We wish to extend our extreme thanks to each and every visitor that we have had over the past year. Thank you!

This update is not as big as the last one, but we have a few surprises in store for you. "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 34 new links and 12 updated links, and we dropped 8 links. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 12 new links and 9 updated links, and we dropped 3 links. If you find a link that doesn't work (that we missed), please let us know. For "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings," we have added the listings for 3 creators, and updated 17 others.

January 31, 1998:

Not only do we have a complete update of the RGttCM, we also have Nightscapes # 6 online. And be sure to vote for The 1997 Mythos Web Online Fiction Awards. The new update: In "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" we have added 12 new listings and updated 18. In "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" we have added 101 links and updated 1 link. In "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print" we have added 8 items and updated 1 item. In "Other Web Sites of Interest" we have added 2 links and updated 3 links.

January 7, 1998:

We still don't have a complete update, due to lack of time. But we don't want to hold this up any longer. So here we have the new update: In "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" we have added 5 new listings, updated 24 listings, and started on the H.P. Lovecraft listing. We have brought "The Chronology of the Cthulhu Mythos" up to 1983. In "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" we have added 119 links, updated 6 links, and dropped 10 links. In "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print" we have added 5 items. In "Other Web Sites of Interest" we have added 3 links and updated 4 links. As a next day addon, we now have Chapter 15 of the "Huitloxopetl" round robin (by Luis G. Abbadie), the updated "Cthulhu Mythos FAQ", and ready-to-print Call of Cthulhu Investigator Sheets in .pdf format, which can be downloaded from our site.

December 15, 1997:

This is an interim update to put out the word about The 1997 Mythos Web Online Fiction Awards. We have also added a new award and transferred the two previous awards to the awards page. Am currently working on the H.P. Lovecraft listing (periodicals only) and three more sections of the chronological listing. Hang in there!

December 2, 1997:

This time around we give you Nightscapes # 5. Due to circumstances beyond our control and time constraints, we were unable to provide title graphics for the fiction, but they will be back next issue. You will have noticed, in getting to the link to this page, that we have somewhat redesigned our index page. We think it looks a little more spiffy now! The big news right now is that with the next RGttCM Update, we will start putting the H.P. Lovecraft Listing online, starting with material that has appeared in periodicals. We have gone ahead and put the first installment of "A Chronology of the Cthulhu Mythos" on line, covering the years 1920 through the end of 1937.

November 16, 1997:

We have done some restructuring to the website, in that we have taken all but the latest awards off the index page and they are now on their own page. We have also dropped the "Future Plans" page and have incorporated the "Information Solicited" page into "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" page. All of the webrings have been placed on a separate page, leaving the Horror Search and EvilNet Now buttons on the bottom of the index page. In adding 121 new links and updating 5 links, "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" hit 115K, so that it has been broken down into three sections, with an added contents page. The majority of the new links are from Nightscapes, Mythos Online, and The Innsmouth Archive. We added 14 new links to "Other Web Sites of Interest." And we have added three new creators and updated the listings of 20 creators in "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings." There is 1 new item in "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print". We have placed the link back to the index page right below this entry so that you don't have to go all the way to the bottom of the page to return. But if this is your first visit and you're interested in what's happened at this web site, there is also a link still at the bottom of the page.

October 21, 1997:

Nightscapes # 4 is now online. We added a link to the review of The Disciples of Cthulhu in the "history" section and added the EvilNet Now button at the bottom of the index page. All "new" and "updated" tags on the other pages remain in place.

October 2, 1997:

An interim update to post two new awards for the RGttCM web site! All "new" and "updated" tags remain in place.

September 25, 1997:

Here's the RGttCM Update. Not only have we added another award, The Sign of the Old Ones Award, but we are hosting Daniel Harm's Cthulhu Mythos FAQ. In "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet", we have dropped 24 links, updated 27 links, and added 47 links (mainly from Mythos Online and Nightscapes). In "Other Web Sites of Interest", we have dropped 6 links, updated 7 links, and added 10 links. In "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings", we have updated 15 creators and added 2 creators.

September 18, 1997:

This update is primarily to put Nightscapes # 3 online. The RGttCM Update will follow in a few days. It has been decided that it was too much work to try and put out the update and the new issue of the magazine at the same time. As mentioned in the entry for September 10th, the "new" and "updated" tags are still in place until the RGttCM Update is put online.

September 10, 1997:

This an interim update so that we may join The Hyborian Web Ring and add two new awards to the index page. (If we get any more awards, we'll have to create an awards page!) All of the "new" and "updated" tags from the last update are still in "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings," "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet," "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print," and "Other Web Sites of Interest." We hope to have the regular update and Nightscapes # 3 online within the next two weeks.

August 11, 1997:

Well, it has been five weeks since our last update, and we have really added a lot. We joined another webring, Mythos. The big news this time around is that Nightscapes # 2 is finally on line, with 52,000 words of fiction, one nonfiction piece, four poems, and a bunch of reviews. "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 100 new links and 4 updated links. Brent Heustess updated his listing of articles from Chaosium Digest as well. "Other Web Pages of Interest" has 8 new links and 1 updated link. "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings" has added 6 new creators and updated the listings for 13 creators. (We finally broke the listing page down into four pages to make loading into your browser faster.) And our "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print" has 18 additional items and 1 updating.

July 3, 1997:

This update is mainly to put the second web site award and The Jade Idol Web Ring links on the index page. There have been some updated links in "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" and some additional updatings in "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings." Several corrections have been made, but only to make the contributors feel better about their work. Since it has only been a week since the last update, all "new" and "updated" tags have been left in place.

June 27, 1997:

The previous June 27th update was actually put online on June 26th. But we noticed some mistakes, so we have put out a corrected update for June 27th. We have also added two new pages, "The Cthulhu Mythos in Print" and "Chaosium Digest Listings", the latter accessed from "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" page.

June 27, 1997:

This is another interim update. You probably noticed the "Cthulhu Likes You Award" in getting to the link to this page. The first issue (finally!) of Nightscapes (with Corey T. Whitworth as our Art Director) is now online. For "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" there are not very many new links this time. The new links are mainly for the material in Nightscapes, but there are a couple of others. We have updated the listings for 8 creators.

June 13, 1997:

Well, here we are with a full updating to the RGttCM. We have added two more chapters to the "Huitloxopetl" round robin and quite a few links. "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 56 new links, 3 updated links, and 3 links were dropped; "Other Web Sites of Interest" has 9 new links and 8 updated links. We have added 8 more creators to the listings and updated the listings for 7 creators.

May 2, 1997:

This is another interim update. This time we are updating to put the table at the bottom of the index site linking our web site to the other web sites in The Cthulhu WebRing. "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet" has 4 new links, 4 updated links, and 5 links were dropped; "Other Web Sites of Interest" has 5 updated links and 1 link was dropped. We have also added two more creators to the listings. You've probably already noticed the button with the Nightscapes graphic on it. This graphic is through the courtesy of Corey Whitworth. Thanks, Corey! By the way, the button is inactive right now, but will be active when Nightscapes # 1 goes online (hopefully with the next update).

April 25, 1997:

This is basically an interim update, in order to get the word out to the creators so that they can send Daniel Harms copies of their creations. But we have also added a new chapter to the round robin "Huitloxopetl," which is accessed from "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet." Even though this is an interim update, this page has 14 new links and 7 updated links. We only had to drop one link this time. On "Other Web Sites of Interest" we have added 2 links and updated 1 link. But the listings have really grown. Besides finishing the update to E.P. Berglund's listing, we have updated four other creator's listings and added the listings for five more creators.

April 11, 1997:

Well, once again we have gone over almost all of the pages on this web site. I think the new backgrounds on the listings and the fiction will make these easier to read.

New material consists of the first eleven chapters of the round robin "Huitloxopetl." This can be accessed on "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet". On this page we have dropped 3 links, added 66 new links, and updated 8 links. On "Other Web Sites of Interest" we dropped 1 link, added 23 new links, and updated 3 links. From the "Information Solicited" page, there is now a direct link to my listing to be used as an example. We have added 3 creators to the listings and updated the listings of 5 creators.

In case you are wondering, all "new" and "updated" tags were removed before the pages were updated.

March 14, 1997:

We have gone over almost all of the pages at this web site making changes. For the reprints herein, we have made aesthestic changes by putting in paragraph indentations. On our returns at the bottom of the pages, we have tried installing jumps so that you return to where you left the previous page.

On "The Disciples of Cthulhu" page, we corrected a big "boo-boo", where we inadvertently copied the contents from the first edition to the second edition, added the two new stories, but forgot to delete the two stories which were dropped!

New material consists of "Wings in the Night" by E.P. Berglund (we couldn't find "Visions of Madness" on diskette!). We have also added 7 creators to "The Cthulhu Mythos Listings," 49 new links and 2 updatings to "The Cthulhu Mythos on the Internet," and 13 new links and 1 updating to "Other Web Pages of Interest". Plus we have some more material that we are checking out for the next update. Take care!

February 21, 1997:
