THE CRAWLER

by

James A. Gruetzmacher

Beneath filtered moonlight beyond twilight's realm,
A nameless thing slithers in subterranean graves,
As ancient evil is awaken to life,
Arising from the putrid abyss of life's decay.

Through vast expanses of forssaken time,
Its blighted squeals of malevolence cry out,
As invisible clouds of cacodemonical laughter,
Form a nefarious cloud of ineffable dread.

I hear it encroaching upon my presence,
Through desolate caverns and hidden sepulchres,
A rampant, omnivorous hunger never ceasing,
Seeking the one who disturbs its ageless sleep.

Soon the Crawler From Beyond,
Will descend upon my being,
Emanating from the air,
A thousand stinging proboscises.

For it is I,
In my sickened dreams of desire,
Unknowingly called upon The Crawler,
From the unfathomable depths of Yeb!
